|Plot||:||+ The Lux Radio Theatre. June 21, 1937. "Monsieur Beaucaire". Sponsored by: Lux. A romance about a French barber who is in reality the Duke d'Orleans. Amelia Earhardt is announced as a future guest. The same story, but done as a comedy with Bob Hope, was heard on Lux on April 14, 1947 (see cat. #16968 and #16969). + The opening scene depicts a brig approaching the English coast. The captain is startled when, on his way to his cabin, he comes face to face with two men who he was unaware were on board. He discovers that one of them is the French Ambassador to England and the other one, he is told, is the ambassadors hairdresser, Monsieur Beaucaire. What he does not know is that the hairdresser is in fact the King of France.|
