|Title||:||the cassbury case|
|Plot||:||+ "The Caspary Case". Sponsored by: Camels, Prince Albert tobacco. Mrs. Caspary has been killed, right after hiring Diamond to protect her. Or was she? The scene where Diamond is "taken for a ride" is similar to a scene in the program of August 9, 1950 (see cat. #54861). Dick Powell mentions that this is a repeat. Miss Cassbury, wife of Phil Cassbury the gambler turns up at Diamond’s office concerned that her husband is going to kill her. She found he’d been stealing from his partner and when she faced him with it he threatened her then the night before, her husband had gone out and returned home early so she put some pillows in her bed and hid. He came upstairs with a knife and stabbed at the pillows before realizing it wasn’t a body and leaving again. Miss Cassbury was convinced he would try again and wanted Diamond to protect her.|
