Riggs) Born Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, October 21, 1908 Died Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 21, 1967 Age 58 As a young adult, Tommy ran a poultry/egg business out of his home in Pittsburgh. He also worked as a musician at radio station WTAE in 1931. During one break, station manager J.L. Coffin heard Tommy play around with a second voice he had, whom Tommy called Betty Lou Barrie. Soon Tommy had his own show on WTAE (along with Betty Lou). He later moved to KDKA (also in Pittsburgh), then to WTAM (Cleveland), and finally to WLW (Cincinnati) where singer Harry Frankel (alias Singin' Sam) called NBC in New York where he was auditioned and did a short set of transcribed shows, sponsored by Chevrolet. He then got a 13 week contract with Rudy Vallee, which turned out to be 48 weeks! On October 1, 1938, Tommy began his own live radio show. It lasted until 1946.

Riggs made his Radio debut in 1928 performing on local radio stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He introduced his seven-year-old little-girl character on The Rudy Vallee Show for NBC in 1937.

During WWII, he served in the US Navy (?-1945). Riggs appeared on screen in two movies, The Queen's Birthday (1936), then played Marvello in Goodbye Broadway (1938).
