Spoiler : Pat Buttram (Maxwell Emmett Buttram) Born Addison, Alabama, June 19, 1915 Died Los Angeles, California, January 8, 1994 Age 78 (kidney failure) Pat went to the Chicago World's Fair in 1933 just before his 18th birthday. A roving reporter from station WLS chose Pat to interview as being a typical fair attendee from the Deep South. But the interview was anything but typical. It was hilarious! The station hired him as an on air personality and the following year he became a regular on the National Barn Dance. He was also heard on Gene Autry and his own show on CBS.
