Spoiler : Luise Rainer was born today in 1910. She was The Good Earth star who became the first actor to win consecutive Oscars when she received a Best Actress Academy Award in 1937 and another one in 1938. She starred in the biography musical film The Great Ziegfeld

Spoiler : LUISE RAINER (1910 ~ 2014) Rainer won two consecutive Best Actress Academy Awards for "The Great Ziegfeld" (1936) and "The Good Earth" (37). She only appeared in eight other Hollywood films, which are: "Escapade" (35), "The Emperor's Candlesticks" (37), "Big City" (37), "The Toy Wife" (38), "The Great Waltz" (38), "Dramatic School" (38), "Hostages" (43) and much later - "The Gambler" (97). She decided to leave MGM in 1938 (feeling her 'source' had dried up, as she explained to MGM boss Louis B. Mayer). In 2010 she did a memorable interview with TCM host Robert Osborne. Luise passed at 104 (just two weeks shy of her 105th birthday) in 2014.
