Lawrence began his radio career in New York on stations WOR, WNEW, and the CBS Radio Network. During WWII, he was host of the music and interview show, "Moonlight Savings Time" that was broadcast to troop ships and war workers from 0200 to 0500. Radio announcer for radio programs including The Frank Sinatra Show on CBS (?-1944-?). Lawrence moved to Los Angeles in 1945, where he worked at radio stations, and in early television.
