|Title||:||word of honor|
|Plot||:||+ After treating a wounded man, Doc gives his word of honor not to reveal the identity or hiding place of the killers. The script was used on the Gunsmoke television series October 1, 1955. The Doc had been gone two days and Marshal Matt Dillon and Chester were getting worried when he finally turned up. The Doc couldn’t tell them about where he’d been just that two riders had come in to his office and told him that a man was hurt somewhere past Fort Dodge. A young man had been shot in the spine and the Doc had been unable to save him. One of the men was ready to kill the Doc to prevent him from talking but the leader agreed to let the Doc go if he gave his word of honor not to tell anyone, least of all the Marshall, where he had been or the identity of the men.|
