|Plot||:||+ Sponsored by: Chesterfield, L & M. Hank Blennis is found lynched, and Charlie Drain is determined to punish the killers. The script was used on the Gunsmoke television series on November 15, 1958. Billy Saxton had killed Joe Powell shot him in the back and now he was about to be lynched by Joe’s brother. When Matt Dillon found him he told Ken Powell that if it were him that had arranged the lynching he would get a fair trial for the murder the same way that Saxton should have had one. Hank Blyniss was a known horse thief who had been lynched. Charles Drain approaches Matt to do something about it as he doesn’t want any lynchers to go scott free. When Charles was a young boy he witnessed his own innocent father been lynched and felt strongly against this form of kangaroo court behaviour.|
