Spoiler : A beautiful story, nicely read, ancient in its fable-like language and structure, but to this reader an autobiographical cry by the author in sadness over the fate of his dead father, whom he left, and who died without his son's presence, in their home town of Buczacz when Agnon left for greener pastures in the wider world, ultimately settling in Israel. This short story is a nice, simple introduction for the new reader to the early work of the great writer S.Y. Agnon.
