I was lucky enough to meet and shake hands with Babe Ruth on June 13, 1948 when I was eleven years old. He flew into the airport at Ypsilanti, MI to pick up a Lincoln Continental and attend a youth baseball game. He said " Hi'ya kid " and I responded " Hi Babe ". I had a baseball signed by him that day. Sad to say he died 64 days later. One of the moat memorable days of my life. sig
