Brings back so many good memories! I can see the room with our radio, sitting with dad. Radio stimulated the imagination. Great radio programs in the 50's and 60's, Tony Hancock, Navy Lark, Around the Horn etc.

Wonderful memories. Didn't have a television at that time. Suspenseful episodes and atmospheric music. Listening to them again is so nostalgic.

I remember being completely enthralled when I first heard it as a young boy. I remember being excited and impatient for the next episode. Thank you very much to the BBC for bringing old cherished memories back in mind again. It seems quite different to todays space travel stories.

I was 9 years old hearing the first episode of Journey into space. Listened every week for every episode and every series. It was the talking point at school. It got us through the winter. Brought back so many memories.

My late-Grandfather listened to radio shows back in the 1950s. This was one of his favourites. I've never heard of it, but listening to it I can see why he loved 'Dr. Who' so much, seeing it started off as a radio show before it moved to television. Radio has been a forgotten medium.

We used to turn out the lights each Saturday night and listen to the serial in the dark - all very exciting for we youngsters

I turned 10 in 1953. Listening to Journey into Space was regular weekly thing. It had us gripped - just scary enough to be thrilling, totally futuristic (set way ahead in 1965 !!!) and full of techno jargon we could make out we understood - G-forces, atomic motors, giroscopes etc!! There were a dozen or more of us boarders and we were given a prep hall, which had a cable radio service speaker in which to flop while it was on.

I was 12 at the time and used to listen every week. My imagination used to run wild listening to the Programme. I sit here now and can still picture the chair I sat in at the time, listening, excited and wondering what was going to happen. Good old days!

I was 8 years old when this was first broadcast and it terrified me to say the least = even the theme music was scary but I was there for the next episode just the same. Now all these yaers later its just pure nostalgia. They were only 4 years out on the real first trip to the Moon.
