The program was originally broadcast from Chicago's Eighth Street Theater but moved later to the Civic. Originating from Chicago's WLS, it appeared for the first time in April, 1924. WLS's studio became too small so in 1928 the program moved to Chicago's Eighth Street Theater. It made its network debut on September 30, 1933 and was heard Saturday nights at 10:30 on BLUE for 60 minutes. The final move was to the Chicago Civic Theater in 1941. On July 4, 1942 it was cut to 30 minutes for it's network airing until 1946. In 1948 ABC revived the show sponsored by Phillips Milk of Magnesia and ended in 1950. The program continued as a local WLW program until 4/30/1960. This was one of the few radio shows to charge admission.
