|Plot||:||+ The story began in 1887 on a cold, stormy autumn night in late October. It was almost midnight when the doorbell jangled and a few moments later a man of about 55 stood before them. He introduced himself as Edmund Lovelace and said that he had come for advice and help, having been told by Major Prendergast that Holmes was a man who had never been beaten. He lives with four of his cousins and he feels that one of them could be considering poisoning the others…|
