Spoiler : "Follow That Man" -- a show that never got beyond this audition (pilot) episode. Hard-boiled detective story, mixed with comedy. Some of the jokes have a bit more sex innuendo than you'd expect, for the '40s. Two aspects of the opening are noteworthy: The first few sentences, which describe the summer heat, are basically ripped from the famous first paragraph of the Raymond Chandler story "Red Wind", just substituting synonym words. Second, the opening scene is essentially the same as the beginning of the movie "The Maltese Falcon". Still, worth a listen, as a curiosity.
