Alland, William (Bill) Born in Delmar, Delaware 3/4/1916; died 11/11/1997 of heart disease in Long Beach, Californie. Began his career as a member and the stage manager for Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre Players. Dialogue director for, and made his screen debut with Citizen Kane (1941). Later became a movie producer (The Creature Walks Among Us 1956) and a movie director (Look In Any Window 1961). Assistant producer of The Mercury Theatre On The Air on CBS-Radio (1938). Writer for the CBS- Radio soap, The Doorway To Life (1947-1948). Peabody Award for writing The Doorway To Life.
