Spoiler : Chaplin, W.W. (birth name was William W. Chaplin) Born in New York 3/27/1895; died 8/18/1978. He was a journalist for the Syracuse Journal, the Assiciated Press and the International News Service. In 1943, he joined NBC as a War correspondent and commentator, covering news stories including the atom bomb tests at Bikini, the United Nations Security Council opening in London and the fifty-one nation peace conference in Paris. Following the end of WWII, he became NBC's White House correspondent. He was elected to The Overseas Press Club in 1945 and 1948.
