Spoiler : Born in Waterbury, Connecticut 4/3/1920; died 1/20/2001 from complications of emphysema at his home in Los Angeles, California. Freeman studied classical piano and composing at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. Freeman played in Glenn Miller's Army Air Force Band during WWII. Following his discharge from the Army he joined Tex Beneke's band in 1946, then made his classical piano debut at Carnegie Hall in 1947. During the late 1940's into the 1950's, Freeman performed at clubs around the world. Accompanist to Rosemary Clooney playing the harpsichord on her hit tune, "Come on-a My House." Broadway composer for I Had A Ball (1964-1965); Lovely Ladies, Kind Gentlemen (1970). Freeman joined Marlene Dietrich in the middle 1960's, then conducted her orchestra for twelve years. Pianist on radio programs including The Piano Playhouse for ABC (1948-1952).
