Greer, Sonny (William A. Greer) Born in Long Branch, New Jersey 12/13/1895; died 3/23/1982 in New York City. With Duke Ellington was the co-founder of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Greer also was a drummer in the band from the beginning until the 1970's.
