He began his career on stage in Galway, Ireland, then was a member of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. McClory was brought to America by RKO studios in 1946. Screen debut in Dick Tracy's Dilemma (1947). Last movie was The Dead (1987). McClory appeared often at California Artists Radio Theatre (CART), especially in radio programs produced by his wife, Webber.
