Born in David City, Nebraska 11/23/1896; died 9/24/1978 following a long illness in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Married to Chicago mobster Martin (Moe the Gimp) Snyder (1922-1938); pianist Myrl Alderman (1939-1966 his death). Nickname was the "Sweetheart of Columbia Records." Some of Etting's hit songs were You Are The Cream Of My Coffee; Ain't Misbehavin; Shine On Harvest Moon; It All Depends On You; Glad Rag Doll.

Vocalist featured on radio programs including The Majestic Theater Of The Air for CBS (1928- 1930); The Chesterfield Quarter-Hour for CBS 1931-1933); Music That Satisfies for NBC (1932); The Oldsmobile Show (1934); The College Prom on NBC-BLUE (1935-1936). Retired in 1941, but appeared once more on radio as the co-star of The Rudy Vallee Show for NBC (1946-1947).
