Bennett, Robert Russell Born in Kansas City, Missouri 6/15/1894; died 8/18/1981 in New York City. Married Louise Edgerton Merrill (1919-?). Led the AEF's 70th Infantry Band during WWI. Composer for stage and screen beginning in 1932. Academy Award for Oklahoma (1956). The Robert Russell Bennett Orchestra and Chorus provided music for radio programs including The Paul Winchell And Jerry Mahoney Show on Mutual (1943-1944); The Ford Show on NBC (1945).
