Born in New York City 6/28/1902; died 12/30/1979 in New York City. Married to (inventor of the Johnnie-Mop) Dorothy Feiner (1930-?). Composer beginning in 1925. Rodgers of Rodgers and Hart (1919-1942). The team's first collaboration was Any Place With You for Lew Fields' A Lonely Romeo in 1919. Their last was for the Broadway play, By Jupiter in 1942 (Hart died in 1943). Rodgers teamed with Oscar Hammerstein as Rodgers and Hammerstein from 1943 until 1960 when Hammerstein died.

Rodgers and Hart provided scores for The Jumbo Fire Chief Program on NBC-Radio (1935-1936). Rodgers and Hart composed "The Flame of Freedom is Burning" for the WWII radio series, "Keep'Em Rolling" sponsored by the Office Of Emergency Management on Mutual (1941-1942).
