Spoiler : Ney gained nationwide notice in 1962 for accurately predicting the stock market crash that year. Author of a 1970 best-selling book, "The Wall Street Jungle." The book was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 11 months, yet it met major resistance. Not only would the New York Times not review the book, but the Wall Street Journal went so far as to refuse to take an ad from a New York bookstore that featured the book in its ad. Two other books Ney wrote was The Wall Street Gang (1974), and Making It the Market (1975).

Spoiler : There was only two people not allowed to guest on Johnny Carson's NBC-TV Tonight Show, Richard Ney and Ralph Nader. At one time, Ney was a host of a financial-advice show. At time of his death, Ney and his wife (Mai Lee) had lived in Pasadena, California where he published a financial newsletter.
