Spoiler : King, Pee Wee (Frank King, others say Julius Frank Anthony Kuczynski) Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2/18/1914; died 3/7/2000 of a heart attack at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Married to Lydia Frank (?-2000 his death). Accordion-playing King began his career as a member of his father's band at age fourteen, by the following year, he formed his first band. Radio debut on WLS's National Barn Dance sometime in the early 1930's, then Pee Wee King and his Golden West Cowboys became regular guests on WSM-Nashville's Grand Ole' Opry as early as 1937. King composed tunes including Slow Poke, Bonaparte's Retreat, You Belong To Me. King and band member Redd Stewart, wrote The Tennessee Waltz in 1947. Patti Page made a hit recording of the tune, selling 65 million copies, the state of Tennessee adopted the tune as their state song in 1965.

Spoiler : The Golden West Cowboys were guests on Old American Barn Dance for DuMont-TV (1953). King was host of The Pee Wee King Show on ABC-TV (1955), featuring 90 minutes of country music, originating from WEWS-Cleveland, Ohio. King left his Golden West Cowboys band in 1969 to become a director for the Country Music Foundation. King was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1974.
