Spoiler : Hi Chris. Your Mom was my Dad’s first cousin. Your grandfather Patrick Barnes was my Grandmother Alice Barnes O’Brien’s younger brother. So he was my great uncle Pat. I loved your Mom when she visited Sharon - she was so glamorous. Peace, John

Spoiler : Barnes, Pat (birth name was Patrick H. Barnes) Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania; died 6/9/1969 at age 70 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Barnes began his broadcasting career at KDKA-Pittsburgh in 1921. In 1925, he became chief announcer at WHT- Chicago, and by 1927 was station manager. While working at WHT, he produced and acted in the first electrically transcribed radio series called Henry Adams and His Book. By the time he left Chicago for New York in the 1930s, he was associated with radio stations including WGN and WENR. In New York he was associated with stations of WOR, WINS and WNBC.

Spoiler : Host of radio programs including The Pat Barnes Show sponsored by Quick Arrow Soap Flakes on NBC-BLUE (1931-1932); Pat Barnes Barnstormers on Mutual-Radio (1937-1938); Pat Barnes In Person sponsored by Procter & Gamble on NBC (1935-1936). As Bob Barry, was the host of a talk- interview show sponsored by Energine on NBC-RED (1938). Associated with other radio programs including I'll Never Forget on Mutual (1940); Those Good Old Days on NBC-BLUE (1942-1944); Let's Be Charming on Mutual (1943-1944). Co-host of The Pat Barnes and Barbara Show on ABC- Radio (1950). In 1954, Barnes moved to Milwaukee where he was the public affairs director at WISN-TV until his death in 1969.
