Spoiler : Cole, Nat "King" (birth name was Nathaniel Adams Coles) Born in Montgomery, Alabama 3/17/1919; died 2/15/1965 of lung cancer in Santa Monica, California. Married and divorced to dancer Nadine Robinson (1937-?); singer Marie Ellington (?-?). Brother of pianist-composer Isaac "Ike" Cole that died in 2001. The son of a Baptist preacher, Cole sang and played piano in the church choir. He made his first recording for Decca Records in 1036 with a group called The Rogues of Rhythm, then toured with Eubie Blake's road company in the musical Shuffle Along. Cole was leader of The King Cole Trio (1939-1948). Composer of many songs including Straighten Up And Fly Right, I'm A Shy Guy and That Ain't Right. Credited with having the first sponsored Black group on Network Radio. Cole was featured with his trio on Nat King Cole Trio Time for NBC-Radio (1946-1948). Host of The Nat "King" Cole Show on NBC-TV (1956-1957).
