Spoiler : Mix, Tom (Thomas Hezikiah Mix) Born in Du Bois, Pennsylvania 1/6/1880; died 10/12/1940 of a broken neck when his Cord automobile overturned near Florence, Arizona. Married and divorced to Grace I. Allin (1902-?); Kitty Jewel Perrine (1905-?); Olive Stokes (1907- 1917); actress Victoria Forde (1918-1930); circus aerialist Mabel Hubbard Ward (1932-1940 his death). Father of former actress Ruth Mix. Mix served as an artillery sergeant in the U.S. Army (1898-1901); was a Drum major with the Oklahoma Cavalry Band (1903); Sheriff-marshal in Dewey, Oklahoma; appeared in Wild West shows (1906-1909); handled horses for Selig Studios, appeared in his first movie in 1910 (Ranch Life In The Great Southwest). Mix was a writer/director for Selig Studios until 1917; with FOX Pictures (1917- 1928). Mix dropped out of movies when sound began and toured with Sells Floto Circus (1930-1931); Tom Mix Circus (1936-1938). Although all old time radio show collectors know of his Tom Mix Ralston show, he never was associated with it except for lending his name to the popular series on NBC and Mutual (1935-1950).
