One of America's finest Oboists that was with the Syracuse, New York and East- man symphonies. Second oboe with the Rochester New York Philharmonic (1932). Mercury Records recording star in 1947. Joined Columbia Records as a producer, was the head of recording for Columbia recording stars including Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, Jo Stafford, Doris Day and Frankie Laine during the 1950's, later was the director for all of Columbia's pop music productions. In 1958, Miller was the first one to release albums with music printed on the LP record sleeves so listeners could sing along with the music, by the early 1960's had released 19 "Sing Along With Mitch" albums that sold over sixteen million copies. Panelist on Songs For Sale for CBS-TV (1951). Host of Sing Sing Along With Mitch on NBC-TV (1961-1964).
