Spoiler : Born in New Jersey 2/17/1910; died 9/5/1986 of a heart attack in San Jacinto, California. Married to General Mills' original Betty Crocker commercial spokeswoman, Adelaide Hawley Cumming (?-1986 his death). In 1929 he was an announcer on WMAK-Buffalo, when CBS's president William S. Paley hired him to announce Guy Lombardo's New Year's Eve broadcasts. He was a charter member of American Federation of Radio Artists. Nicknamed, "The Voice Of Pathe News" for the many Pathe newsreels that he narrated during the 1930's and 1940's. During WWII, he served with the US Navy producing and directing training films.
