Born in Memphis, Tennessee 9/12/1882; died 7/11/1974 in New York. Brother of Ernest LaPrade. He studied music and art, then moved to Europe where he furthered his music knowledge and began singing opera. In 1923, he returned to America where he began his long career at Thomas Cook and Son Travel Agency.

LaPrade was the commentator on Cook's Travelog that was sponsored by Cook's Travel Agency on the NBC and CBS Radio Networks (1926-1939). Producer of The Collier Hour on NBC-BLUE (1927- 1932).
