It could only be for him this interpretation, just see his performance in Arthur Miller's play: "The death of a salesman".

Spoiler : Lee J. Cobb turned in an excellent performances as Police Chief Harold F. "Robby" Robinson in the 1947 murder mystery "Boomerang" with Dana Andrews, Jane Wyatt, Ed Begley Sr., Karl Malden, Arthur Kennedy and Sam Levine. A really good film -- and one often overlooked -- and is a fictionalized account that took place in the 1920s in Connecticut -- the killing of a priest -- with Andrews playing the prosecutor who in real life was Homer Cummings who went on to FDR's attorney general.

Spoiler : Loved him in The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit and 12 Angry Men! I told this story before but here goes again.... Cobb was very sick and was in the hospital. The doctors told him he needed a change of climate to recuperate in. Cobb said he could not afford this. The next thing he knew a guerney was taking him to an ambulance and the ambulance went to the airport He had a private nurse with him and the plane to him to a Private First Class sanitarium in Palm Springs California. He had no idea who was doing this for him. So guess who walks in. Old blue eyes himself Frank Sinatra. Cobb found out Sinatra had done all this and why did he do it. Sinatra replied....I like the way you act. Great story.
