Spoiler : Baker, Kenny (birth name was Kenneth Lawrence Baker) Born in Monrovia, California 9/30/1912; died 8/10/1985 of a heart attack in Solvang, California. Baker paid for his singing lessons by working on the Bolder Dam. Winner of Eddy Duchin's amateur contest in 1935, the same year was a singer at the Los Angeles Coconut Grove night club when Jack Benny signed him to work on The Jack Benny Program as "the dumb singer," the same character that Dennis Day later perfected on the program. Vocalist on The Fred Allen Show (The Texaco Star Theater) for CBS-Radio (1940-1942); Glamor Manor on ABC-Radio (1946- 1947). Host of radio programs including the syndicated rrogram, Sincerely, Kenny Baker (1945). Vocalist on Blue Ribbon Town for CBS-Radio (1943-1944), then was host of the program the last couple months it was on the air after Groucho Marx left.
