Married to Walter Brooks (1936-1939); Lieutenant Colonel (later General) Clarence Shoop (1944-1968 his death); Beverly Hills surgeon William F Bergin (1968-2001 her death). Debuted on screen at age nine in Maytime (1923) using her name Jacqueline Wells, and she used that name until 1941. Julie Marshall on My Hero for NBC-TV (1952-1953).

Spoiler : Bishop retired from show business in 1957 after appearing in The Big Land, which was her last movie. Bishop kept busy, as she was a private pilot, painter of still lifes, and staged several exhibitions of her work which decorated her home. Bishop served as national president of Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, an organization that provides scholarships for outstanding students of science and engineering. She also lent her energies to the National Charity Legue, Diadames and the League for Children.
