Born in Madison, New Jersey 7/21/1894; died 7/15/1955 in San Francisco, Cali- fornia. Spent twenty-five years as the Literary editor at the San Francisco Chronicle. Book critic on the NBC-Radio Pacific Coast network beginning in 1924 until his death.
