Brother of writer Dominick Dunne. Dunne graduated from Princeton University in 1954, then worked five years for Time magazine. Dunne moved with wife Didion to her native California after their marriage, both of them seeking freelance writing jobs. Both worked as writers for the Saturday Evening Post magazine. Screenwriter for The Panic in Needle Park (1971); Up Close & Personal (1996). Writer for television including Kill Me on July 20th, which was presented on Kraft Suspense Theater for NBC (1963).
