Spoiler : Berry, John (Jak Szold) Born in the Bronx, New York; died 11/29/1999 at age 82 of pleurisy in Paris, France. Member of Orson Welles' Mercury Theater Players, appearing in Five Kings and Julius Caesar during the late 1930's. When Welles went to Hollywood for Citizen Kane, Berry managed the Mercury Players. Later Berry moned to Hollywood, working as assistant director for Billy Wilder. Director for movies including Tuesday In November (1945); A Captive In The Land (1990). Blacklisted in the early 1950's, Berry moved to France for over a decade. Upon his return from France, Berry became a television director for episodes of The Defenders Eastside/Westside
