Born in Guildford, England 6/20/1911; died 8/14/1994 in London. Married to mystery novelist Eric Ambler (1958-1994 her death). Began as an assistant secretary-writer for Alfred Hitchcock (1933). Came to America to write the script for the Academy Award winning movie, Rebecca in 1939. Producer for Universal Pictures and other studios (1942-1955). Producer of the syndicated television series, Janet Dean, Resistered Nurse (1954); Alfred Hitchcock Presents on CBS-TV and NBC-TV (1955-1962); Journey To the Unknown on ABC-TV (1968-1969).
