Spoiler : Born in Brooklyn, New York 6/19/1912; died 11/17/2001 at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Jerome began playing the saxophone while attending high school in Plainfield, New Jersey. Attended college and medical school at the University of Alabama. Jerome and his tenor saxophonist toured with Harry Reser and his Cliquot Club Eskimos band in the middle 1930s before he joined Glenn Miller's original orchestra. He also played briefly with Red Norvo's band before he joined Benny Goodman's band in 1938. When Goodman's band broke up in 1940, he joined Artie Shaw's group, appearing with Shaw's group in the 1940 movie, Second Chorus.

Jerome was orchestra leader for television variety programs including The Ted Steele Show on NBC, DuMont and CBS (1948-1950); Versatile Varieties on NBC, CBS and ABC (1949-1951). He was an executive for record labels, Apollo and Keystone Records. He was heard locally on New York radio during the 1970s, and was music director at WPIX-TV-New York. Jerome also scored and arranged many commercials for radio and television including scores for Winston cigarette commercials.
