Born in New Orleans, Louisiana 8/20/1885; died 7/10/1941 in Los Angeles, California. Piano player in New Orlean clubs beginning in 1902. Formed a band called Morton's Red Hot Peppers band. Composer of many tunes including Jelly Roll Blues and Wolverine Blues.
