Born in Los Angeles, California 8/22/1924; died 4/22/1989 of cancer in Man- hattan, New York. Son of actors James Kirkwood, Sr. and Lila Lee. Playwriter, novelist and actor. Co-writer with Nicholas Dante of Broadway's longest runn- ing show, A Chorus Line, winning awards including a Tony and Pulitzer Prize. Play was adapted to the 1984 movie. On screen in Mommie Dearest, Oh God, Book II, and The Supernaturals.
