Spoiler : Born in Boston, Massachusetts; died 10/21/2004 at age 86 at his home in Toluca Lake, California. Attended Dartmouth College and the New England Conservatory of Music. Following the end of WWII, Rourke started his own business packaging radio and television shows, as well as writing, producing and hosting them in the New York and New England markets before landing a job as an annoucer for bandleader Horace Heidt in the late 1940s on The Youth Opportunity Program for NBC-Radio, which brought him to Los Angeles. Announcer for Call For Music on CBS-Radio (1948).

Spoiler : Rourke appeared in three movies with an uncredited role in When a Girl's Beautiful (1947); played an announcer in A Woman's Secret (1949); uncredited role in The Twonky (1953). Produced and hosted the Stop Arthritis and Save Autistic Children telethons in the 1950s and 1960s. In the late 1960s, he turned his telethon experiance to politics, raising money for former President Nixon's campaign in 1968. He produced, and co-hosted former Los Angeles Mayor Sam Yorty's KHJ-TV Channel 9 program in the late 1960s, later criticized Yorty for running for a third term. Rourke was defeated when he ran for mayor of Los Angeles in 1969.
