Cobb, Irvin S (birth name was Irvin Shrewsbury Cobb) Born in Paducah, Kentucky 6/23/1876; died 3/11/1944 of dropsy in Manhattan, New York. Kentucky's favorite son and famed humorist. Regular performer on radio programs including The Eveready Hour for NBC (1927); The Gulf Show (1933). The Colonel of White Hall Plantation, on The Paducah Plantation for NBC-Radio (1936-1937). After his death, he was cremated, and his ashes were spread on the roots of a dogwood tree in Puducah.
