Spoiler : Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 11/18/1908. Died 6/2/2001 of natural causes at her home in Westport, Connecticut. Daughter of orchestra leader Joe Coca, vaudevillan Sadie Brady. Married to music arranger Bob Burton (1935-1955 his death); actor-director King Donovan (1960-1987 his death). Coca began taking piano lessons at age 5, singing lessons at age six, dancing lessons at age seven. By age eleven had made her stage debut singing and dancing in New York vaudeville theaters, and was discovered by Broadway producer Leonard Sillman in 1934, appearing in New Faces of 1934. Appeared with her husband Bob Burton in the stage play, "Straw Hat Revue" (1939), and many others until 1942. Screen debut with bit roles in the 1930s, including Bashful Ballerina (1937), and Happyland (1938). Last movie was Television debut as the co-host with Jerry Bergen for "Buzzy Wuzzy" on ABC in 1948. First appearence with Sid Caesar was on "Admiral Broadway Revue," a short-lived series (1/28/1949-6/3/1949). Co-star with Sid Caesar on Your Show of Shows for NBC-TV (1950-1954). Betty Crane on The Imogene Coca Show for NBC-TV (1954-1955). Regular performer on Sid Caesar Invites Your for ABC-TV (1958). Co-star with Sid Caesar on The Sid Caesar Show for ABC-TV (1963-64). Grindl on the NBC-TV situation comedy (1963-1964). Shad on It's About Time for CBS-TV (1966-1967). Emmy Award in 1952 as Best Actress.
