Spoiler : Johnson, Hugh S. (aka General Hugh S. Johnson) Born in Ft Scott, Kansas 8/5/1882; died 4/15/1942 of pneumonia. Johnson was a militarist, suthor, columnist, and briefly a radio commentator. He graduated from The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, then served in the US Army, rising to the rank of Brigadier General. During WWI, he was administrator of the draft, later was administrator for The National Recovery Act (NRS), and The Works Progress Administration (WPA). During his career he also served as an executive at The Moline Implement Company and The Lea Fabric Corporation.

Spoiler : From 1937 to 1938, Johnson was on radio commentating NBC-BLUE sponsored by Bromo Quinine Cold Tablets. Due to his colorful language and bluntness, he earned the nickname of, "Old Ironpants." Johnson was active until the day before his death when he submitted his last newspaper column.
