Spoiler : Born in Alameda, California 5/21/1901; died 12/1/1986 of a heart disease and pneumonia at a hospital in Los Angeles, California. He had undergone heart surgery in June of 1986, then was hospitalized for four months prior to his death/ Attended the Culver Military Academy, where he was an athelete, and The University Of California at Berkeley. He began his career in 1925 playing piano in vaudeville. He formed his band, originally called Horace Heidt and His Californians that performed in San Francisco clubs. He moved to New York, then Chicago and was featured at the Drake Hotel for a few years. Recording artist on Brunswick, Columbia, and RCA Victor record labels.
