Happy birthday to Herman Wouk, born on May 27, 1915.

Wouk was involved in a January 1956 WML episode that is a favorite of mine: a landmark panel of writers. Dorothy introduced Herman, who introduced his boss of radio days Fred Allen, who introduced Tonight Show host and writer Steve Allen. It was the only time the Allens Fred and Steve appeared together on the panel.
