Born in New York City 11/12/1917. He formed his first band while in high school. Studied music at the Julliard School of Music. The band he led in the late 1930s through the 1940s sounded like Hal Kemp's band. Writer of many tunes, including Night Is Gone; Nice People; Theme From Brazen Brass.

Jerome's band appeared on many radio band remotes, and in eastern and midwestern clubs and ballrooms. The Henry Jerome Orchestra provided music for an ABC-Radio program titled, Dinner at the Green Room, which originated from New York's Hotel Edison, and his orchestra also provided music for radio programs including Fun and Folly With Ed East and Polly on NBC (ca middle 1940s); Treasury Varieties on Mutual (1954-1956).
