Born in Cromwell, Connecticut 11/29/1914; died 5/5/1959 of burns suffered in a fire at his apartment after falling asleep while smoking. Alto saxophonist that formed his first band at sixteen, then was a member of several bands including Glenn Miller.

In 1941, he formed an orchestra that recorded on several record labels while performing at clubs, ballrooms, hotels and on radio. He had his own Mutual Radio program (1942-1943), then ABC in 1945. His band was also featured on band remotes from the early 1940s to the early 1950s including one from the Meadowbrook in New Jersey on 7/20/1946 and the Hotel Peabody in Memphis on 12/31/1952.
