Spoiler : Jones, Grandpa (birth name was Louis Marshall Jones) Born in Niagra, Kentucky 10/20/1913; died 2/19/1998 of complications from a series of strokes at the McKendree Village nursing home in Nashville, Tennessee. At age twenty-two began playing a "Grandpa" in his comedy routines at Wheeling, West Virginia and Cincinnati, Ohio clubs. Teamed with harmonica player Joe Troyan and they provided music for Lum And Abner (?-?). Served in the armed forces during WWII. Following the war joined Pee Wee King's band, making his debut on stage at The Grand Ole' Opry in 1946 (regular member at the Opry 1959-1993).

In 1982 Jones presented his crumpled hat, baggy pants, high-topped boots, and suspenders that had been his career trademarks to the Smithsonian.
