Born aboard a ship enroute from Europe to America 7/8/1918; died 3/28/1975 in Glendale, California. Torch singer and musical comedy star that began her career imitating Polish comedienne Lyda Roberti, and eventually replaced Roberti on the vaudeville stage as the partner of Lou Holtz. On screen in Start Cheering (1940); The Babe Ruth Story (1948).
